What is in the pack

250 MIDI files, one guitar pattern per file: 25 patterns in each of 10 styles. 30 of the files are twin-harmony lines with two guitar parts. MIDI only, no audio. There are no drum or bass parts.

40 leads, 30 solo phrases and 10 full solos

30 arpeggio or sweep figures and 20 tapping figures

File names show the style, part type, key, BPM, tuning and length in bars. See download format and contents.

Tunings, tempo and time signatures

64 to 220 BPM, one tempo per file. 8 tunings, 6-string and 7-string; 38 files need a 7-string guitar instrument.

Programmed, not performed: every note was written in code. Timing is on the grid.

Import and channels

Bring the files into your DAW and choose your own guitar instrument. MIDI makes no sound by itself.

Guitar 1 on channel 1; Guitar 2 on channel 2 in the 30 twin-harmony files.
Each file sends a General MIDI program change for an electric guitar sound (clean, overdriven or distortion). Your instrument may ignore it.
No pitch bend or controller (CC) data: no bends, vibrato or slides are written in.
Section markers in every file (2 to 9; the full solos have 5 to 9).
Standard MIDI Files, format 1, 960 PPQ.

Not tested with any specific DAW or plugin.

KNOW THE TUNINGS.

Each file name ends with its tuning. Load a guitar instrument set to that tuning, or transpose.

The 38 files in B Standard 7-string and Drop A 7-string go down to MIDI 35 (B1) and MIDI 33 (A1). The highest note in the pack is MIDI 88 (E6).

Keep time signature import on in your DAW for the odd-meter files.

Not tested with any specific DAW or plugin.

You may record, release, perform, stream, sync and sell music you make with these files, commercial or not, with no further fees or credit required, and edit, transpose, re-voice, cut and combine the files freely inside your works. You may sell or license beats and instrumentals made with the files as finished, rendered audio, and use them in work for clients; the client gets the finished work, not the MIDI files. People you engage on a specific project may use the files for that project only. You may not resell, share, upload, give away or redistribute the MIDI files themselves, alone or bundled, edited or not, including in sample packs, MIDI packs, templates, presets, libraries or AI/ML training sets, and you may not share a DAW project or template that contains them. You may not grant exclusive rights in the Cinderhall material, or register a work made mainly of unedited Cinderhall files with a content-identification system such as YouTube Content ID.
