GEN 01 / DRUM GROOVE AND FILL

DRUM GENERATOR.

Pick a seed, a length and a feel, press Generate, then download the drum part as a MIDI file. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and there is no account or signup. The same seed and settings always give the same file, made by the same Gen 01 engine every time.

Generator

A whole number from 0 to 4294967295. Same seed, same pattern.

NOTE MAP

GM fits most drum plugins. SD3 and GGD only move the second kick (and the GGD ride 2). SSD5 and AD2 move more notes, and some of their notes are unverified. None of the maps were checked inside those plugins, so check against your own kit.

More settings

Part "Full set" makes intro 2, groove, variation, breakdown, blast or double kick, cymbal work, groove return and ending 2, so it is 4 + 6 x bars long. Changing the style resets the tempo to that style's usual tempo.

No pattern yet. Press Generate.

KNOW THE LIMITS.

A STARTING POINT.

The grooves come from simple templates with seeded variation. They will repeat more than a real drummer would, and the style accuracy is approximate.

Every hit passes basic playability rules (two hands, two feet, minimum gaps). A hit that breaks a rule is dropped, and the count is shown under the pattern. Humanize is plain random jitter, not a groove model.

ABOUT THIS TOOL.

WHAT IT IS.

This page runs Gen 01, Cinderhall's drum groove and fill generator, version 1.1.0, entirely in your browser. The file is built on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved.

Questions or a pattern that sounds wrong? Write to info.cinderhall@gmail.com with the file name: it holds the settings and the seed.

One email when a new MIDI pack or free tool comes out, and nothing else: at most two emails a month, often fewer.

Signing up is optional. The download above works without it, and always will.
